The Soul Dark gray clouds thundered across the sky, lightning lighting them up from the inside. A sharp wind pelted my face with stinging rain as I ran, searching for shelter. I swore, cursing Gabriel August. That pompous souled twit who had left me out here in the first place. Even now I could see his grinning Jack o' Lantern face. I was sure that he wanted to torture me.
I stumbled over a branch discarded in the road, barely managing to keep my feet. The rain was getting worse, much worse. I moved off the open road and into the trees, hoping they would provide more shelter.

Dark Angel's Sword The forest was dense, making for good coverage. It was damp and fog crawled around our ankles. The HK 416 assault rifle in my hand was freezing to my fingers with the cold that night brought. The strap holding clips of ammunition bit painfully into my chest and stomach, through the few layers of clothes I wore. Other people needed the warmth more with these freezing nights. I sometimes debated whether the protection of darkness was worth the less than comfortable temperatures. I quickly amended myself. Of course it was. Suffering through some frost was definitely worth it if it potentially saved lives.
I led my group of six others further into enemy territory, careful not to make a sound. A loose strand of brown hair fell into my eyes and I impatiently brushed it away while making sure I didn’t trip over any tree roots. It is unlucky that I am an overlooked god, for had I aroused suspicion I might have had no hand in our downfall. I was almost caught the first year I obtained power – because of my incompetence, at first, the percentage of births on the planet was lower than it had been for decades – none at all for the first three months. Look In Mind    I persuade, I cry, we love and hate.

    I and you want more than this,

    you nor I can help the other,

    why is this!

    We do not want to change

    and we love only a few.

    But I am not the one to write or talk,

    I do not trust in us.

    Like you, I have been crushed,

    so from now on I curse my shyness ;

    but there is a way that I have learned how to avoid from getting a broken heart.

    I just watch and listen from a distance.

she was too pale to be held against the sun: so she leans against it until you can't see her face.

her eyes were chalk-smudges on blackboards, blurred against a backdrop of white-washed walls. her outline was all fade-out and lace, as white as winter could be.

her words were quiet like stains are, clinging to a curtain in the window. just trying to blend into the pattern, or at least not become part of it.

and when she breathes her chest swells with see-through lungs--hoping that if you focus, you'll see right through her glass skin. after all, she's just a smudge of the wrong varnish in your eyes.

The Demon Hound Scarlet eyes peered through the mists. A horse whinnied in fear, seeming to sense the creature lurking behind it. The rider pulled fruitlessly on the reins, trying to steady the animal.
The padding footsteps of the gigantic, black dog seemed to echo around them as it stepped away from the shrouding fog, red eyes glowing brightly. The horse reared up in terror at the sight of the creature, throwing its rider from its back and galloping off, disappearing in the dense foliage.

Let me tell you about true beauty.

I had the privilege of working with six group home housemates that suffered from various levels of Down's Syndrome when I was 19. Those six individuals changed my view of the world. People would look at them oddly when we went out. Some people would turn away, some would cross the street. They had the right to judge and be fearful, don't get me wrong. Cleaning out the Feedback Folders

No, we're not going to delete your artwork from this group.

We are simply going to move submissions in the feedback folders to their regular folders (the folders where they would go to after lit is critiqued)

Why?

Because we're suffering a huge backlog of un-critiqued lit

And I get a little overwhelmed looking at pages and pages of lit that need critiques

We just want to start fresh again.

So if you still care and have lit that you know that you really want us to critique, please comment below and link me the deviation! I will move it back to the appropriate feedback folder

If you have a submission that needs to get accepted to the gallery, fear not

We will accept it (if it follows our guidelines of course) and have it critiqued.

And my apologies if your submission expired. ^^ I have been quite busy lately.

Also, sorry for the inactivity. I hope you guys are all still here. There's a lot of things that we have not gotten to that we really should be doing.

Uhmmm hi I'm new to DA and poetry in general. I'm looking for critiques and such for my lit. Uhmm my blackberry doesn't see the submission thingy sooo hope you see comment. Anyways my first poem I already know is crappy its my 1st one like... Ever minus the few we did in class but those involved copying lol. So yea I don't know what else to say I joined today @_@ so hope someone reads this and can help me. Oh! And I'm really wanting a mentor type figure someone who I can like run stuff by and help with the writing process and stuff before I post it @_@
